Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 7:30 am–4:30 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach OSU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at (614) 292-2212; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. The care our daughter received at OSU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was stellar. Dr Emam, his surgical residents, front office staff, scheduler, billing department, and nurses are compassionate, friendly, happy to help, and all very kind throughout the surgical process. Dr Emam gets to know his patients and makes them feel comfortable by developing a trusting relationship with them. Dr Emam is exceptional in skills, knowledge, planning, and communication, and overall he’s just a wonderful human. Highly recommend him and his office!

Free parking if you are a patient waiting time is about 30 minutes not bad for a busy practice and staff are friendly too

Amanda Rosenfeld was my dentist assigned to do my full top teeth extraction.SHE WAS HORRIBLE!!When she came to the waiting area to get me as we were walking back she was walking in front of me & didn't say a word to me not "how r u " nothing & was very standoff. I felt her overall body language & attitude as that she didn't want to be there. When she did talk to me I felt like she was talking down to me. When she was TRYING to stick my hand (so I can b knocked out during the exactions.) After sticking my right hand 3 times & blew out vain she left the needle in my hard & she proceeded to try to stick my left hand 2 times & didn't work. During that time she was not trying to comfort me or talk me down. I wasn't till I nearly flipped my lid untill they went to get a Dr. to do it. Her assistant who took out the needle was a breath of fresh air she was kind & explained why/what happened to my hand. Bye that time I was upset & aggravated. Amanda never tried to talk me down or ease the situation. Very disappointed & aggravating & UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! So now I have to wait 6 more weeks to get them pulled!!

I would NOT recommend at all! Faculty referred me to resident! Resident program is total chaos. Lost my medical documentation, x-rays, won’t return phone calls, upper β€œmanagement” blames retirement, charting, their bosses, former β€œresidents” and even receptionist. In my opinion, they’ve hurt a lot of patients both emotionally and our healthcare. Shame on The Ohio State University. Worst medical experience I’ve ever had. Horrible

had the worst medical experience of my life here yesterday. went in to receive treatment for a dental abscess and was clearly not given enough local anesthetic. i was obviously in pain during the procedure, but the dental professionals never once stopped to ask me if i was okay or if i needed more anesthetic. i spent 15 minutes feeling them stab, scrape, and squeeze my gums; i left in so much pain and feeling completely traumatized, had a full-blown panic attack for about an hour afterwards. i don't usually post reviews, honestly, but every time i've been to this particular clinic i've been treated poorly. besides yesterday's incident, i had my wisdom teeth taken out a month ago. the dentist who did my surgery kept calling me "sweetheart" beforehand, which was weird and patronizing. they gave me almost no post-op instructions besides a single sheet of paper handed to me on my way out with barely any information. a week later, went in to get treated for dry socket on my right side, and the resident cleaned out my left side with a syringe full of water; she jabbed my post-extraction gums so much in the process that they started bleeding and were extremely sore afterwards.
